Most of my sand dune experiences have been in Death Valley. I like walking the ridge of the sand dunes, your feet make patterns on either side, its quite interesting. I was quite taken by this one after it rained, so I used my memory to recreate it. Its 36 by 54 (inches), actually its a study in yellow, browns and blue. I finished the painting in 1985, its a culmination of a lot of memories. We visited Death Valley a lot of times, climbing the canyons clear up to snow level.
