I did this little painting back in 1992. There was a recession going on and people were losing their homes, and, losing their jobs, so I did this and called it “The Family of ‘92”. Living was a little precarious for a whole bunch of people, holding on for dear life for fear of being washed away, physically as well as financially.
All sort of symbolic… And being helpless at the same time.
24 x 18 acrylic on ‘illustration’ board.
