In 2007 a printer invited a couple dozen artists to the plant and provided a canvas, oils and acrylics and brushes. Unfortunately, they gave us the canvas first, but the light was so terrible, the brushes were terrible, it was so noisy, and I paint, usually, in silence. So, I had a sketch prepared, but everything was going wrong, we only had an hour to do it, so I was totally unhappy with it, I brought it home and finished it. I called it “Bustin’ Out”, we all kind of bust out from our past into the future at some point in our life. I meant this to illustrate that we break out mentally, and psychologically, at some point in our life, rather than the physical part of busting out. It’s a 30 x 40, oil on canvas.
